Script Coverage

When you choose one of our Script Coverage packages, we read your script and fill out a standard coverage form as you'd get at an agency or production company. Why? If you are submitting your script to these places, it is highly likely this is the format it would be processed in. We want to stress-test your story in the big and small picture, with areas such as logline, synopsis, structure, character, dialogue, etc. The form can be a little formulaic, but reality is formulaic sometimes. If you haven't seen your script in a conventional coverage format, it can be very informative.

We supplement the traditional coverage with a consultation, which will be entirely about our notes for the project. We have our own general structure for how these go, but it's a two-way conversation where we really dig into the questions we have. We want to start with what the story is, what’s working, then discuss what it could be and what a next draft of the script might address.

This is a great way to get a professional cold read, with structured insight to recap what we're seeing and help you build a game plan going forward.

Consultations

Consultations are our bread and butter. We read your script, hear your vision and priorities for it, and give you an honest, productive read on what we’re seeing and what we think is the best pathway forward for it. It’s a two-way conversation where we ask you some questions and work together. We don’t waste time with small stuff here; we talk about strengths, weaknesses, and the big picture of the project.

We do critical analysis. We like you and your project, but we have a clinical approach to our consultations. Your doctor loves all your organs, but their job is to tell you if they see problems. We operate the same way. It’s important to build around strengths, but it’s possible we need to discuss some hard truths from a framework of problem-solving and growth.
