Good Faith
This industry, and our business, are all about relationships. We engage with every project in good faith, with an earnest effort to be helpful, kind, and supportive. We are also people in this same space, and appreciate getting that good faith back on our end. We care about you. We want you to stick around. If a problem arises, we want to solve it like collaborators and peers.
Payment
We operate on payment up front only. We hold ourselves to the highest standard on deliverables. If you feel like you have not received deliverables in the agreed upon time, please contact us.
Confidentiality
We work with commercially and personally sensitive material, and discretion is a responsibility we take seriously. Your work will not be discussed or shared outside of our relevant conversations. We will not disclose our clients without their permission, although we do like to show testimonials to help potential clients see if we might be a good fit for their project.
Ownership
We don't own your work, and none of our input on your story is proprietary. You are the captain of your project, we just advise. If you take our suggestion leading to the creation of characters, locations, spin-offs (please do!) the material remains yours. Good story fundamentals are not proprietary. We're here to help you go kill it.
*For Script Doctoring and Writing for Hire services, we have different contracts.
Turnaround
We've agreed on a service and a deadline. Should an emergency arise where we do not hit a deadline, we will communicate immediately and provide a revised timeline. For extreme turnarounds on your end — shooting setbacks, super hot deadlines, etc. — understand that we are active partners in remedying your emergency and will do our fastest work. Mutual respect and understanding leads to the best results.
Refunds
This is the stickiest part. We can guarantee that you will receive informed, focused, well-intentioned feedback designed to make your project and your process as strong as possible. We can't guarantee how your project will turn out. We can't guarantee that you will like or agree with our feedback. We can only take your material at face value, listen to your priorities for the project, and deliver competent pathways to the story succeeding.
We can only be responsible for our process, not results. The process is what you're paying for. If you feel like you haven't received what was promised within a reasonable range of the timeframe promised, contact us.
Sensitive Subjects
We work with subjective material. It is not our place to make moral judgements about the content of our clients, and we engage in all ideas in good faith. However, we are human beings and there are some ideas that we won't be the right fit for. If that situation arises, we will let you know. If a project is not a good fit for us, we reserve the right to remove ourselves and wish you good luck finding the right landing spot for it.
